Member Profile (BuddyPress)
Somebody else’s BuddyPress profile, read-only.
This is a background feature. Members reach it by tapping a member in the directory, or a notification about one, rather than by choosing it from navigation.
Before you start
Section titled “Before you start”| Plugin | BuddyPress, with the Community Members and Extended Profiles components enabled |
| Endpoint group | BuddyPress Members and BuddyPress Profile |
| Plan | Every plan |
Add it to your app
Section titled “Add it to your app”Nothing to do. The builder places this screen when you add Directory (BuddyPress), and removes it when you remove that. It is never offered in Available Features and cannot be deleted on its own.
Without it a tapped directory row would drop out to a webview, which is the thing the native directory exists to avoid.
Settings
Section titled “Settings”It carries the same settings as Profile (BuddyPress), because it renders the same fields — the cover image, and whether the per-field privacy control appears. The editing setting has no effect here: this is somebody else’s profile, and nobody edits it.
What your members see
Section titled “What your members see”The member’s xProfile fields, grouped as BuddyPress groups them, and their cover image where you have switched it on.
Only the fields that member is entitled to show them. Visibility is decided on your site, per viewer, and a field the viewer may not see is not sent at all rather than hidden in the app.

When it does not work
Section titled “When it does not work”| Symptom | Cause | Fix |
|---|---|---|
| Tapping a member opens a webview | This screen is missing from the background | Re-add the directory, which restores it |
| The profile is nearly empty | The viewer may not see those fields | Expected |
| No cover image | The setting is off, or the member has none | Check both |
