Events

Your site’s calendar as a native screen. Members browse upcoming and past events as a list or a month calendar, search and filter them by category, open one to RSVP, and the people who manage events create new ones.

This page covers Events from The Events Calendar. The Events card that opens Ultimate Member - Events in place is a different feature, documented on its own page.

PlanEvery plan

Every Memberside endpoint is off until it is enabled. Placing any events feature switches the Events and Event RSVP groups on for you when your site is connected. If the site was not connected at the time, turn them on yourself under Memberside → REST API — see Enable the endpoints you need.

Event RSVP is listed only while Event Tickets is active. Without it, events still show in full, with no RSVP button.

Drag Events onto a navigation bar or into the side drawer.

Tapping an event opens it natively. You do not have to place anything for that — the Event screen is added to the background for you, and you can open its settings from the preview.

Most calendars also place My Events, so members can find the events they RSVP’d to. Place Create Event too if you want a tab for the form; the Create button on this screen opens the same form without it.

Create button is drawn only for a member The Events Calendar lets create events. For everyone else it is hidden whatever the setting says. See Who can create events.

List shows upcoming events, soonest first. Past turns it round: events that have ended, the latest first. Each card carries the event’s image, title, date and venue.

Month shows the month as a calendar, with every event that falls in it. An event that runs over several days is on every one of them.

Times are the event’s own. An event at 7 pm in Chicago reads 7 pm on every phone, wherever the member is, which is how The Events Calendar shows it on your website.

Anyone can browse, signed in or not, because your calendar is public on the website too. RSVP asks a visitor to sign in.

These parts of The Events Calendar and Event Tickets stay on the website:

  • Paid tickets and Tickets Commerce. An event that sells tickets and has no RSVP shows no RSVP button in the app.
  • Recurring events and series from Events Calendar Pro. The app is built and tested against the free plugin, so a series cannot be made or edited in the app.
  • Community Events submission, where anyone may submit an event. The app’s form is for people who can already manage events in wp-admin.
  • Editing venues and organizers. The form picks existing ones, and can add a new venue for the people allowed to.
  • Comments on events.
  • The Week, Day, Photo and Map views.

Neither plugin raises in-app notifications. RSVP confirmations arrive by email, sent by Event Tickets.
