Job

One job in full: the description, the company, the salary, where the job is on a map, and a button to apply.

This is a background feature. Members reach it by tapping a job rather than by navigating to it.

It is added for you. Placing Jobs, My Jobs, Job Moderation or Job Categories puts the job screen on the Background tab, because each of them opens jobs.

Open its settings from the preview to give it a title of its own, to hide the company’s links, or to hide the map.

  • Tapping a job approved or job expired notification in Notifications.

The job title, the company with its logo and tagline, the location, the job type badges, the salary where there is one, when it was posted and when it expires, then the full description.

Apply sits at the bottom. It opens a new email for a job that takes applications by email, and the employer’s page for one that takes them by website. A job that is filled or expired has no Apply button, as on the website.

A banner at the top says when a job is not live: pending review, draft, expired or filled. Only the job’s author and moderators can open a pending or draft job at all.

The map card shows where the job is, with Open in Maps to hand the address to the phone’s maps app for directions. It appears only for a job whose location was picked from the address suggestions, on the website or in the app, because only those have coordinates. A job with a plain text location shows the text and no map.

Save bookmarks the job, into a folder where your site uses them, and the job then appears in Bookmarks. A visitor who is not signed in is asked to sign in first. The button is not drawn at all until your site lets members bookmark jobs.

The kebab menu in the corner holds what the viewer may do with this job. The site decides the list, from JobBoardWP’s own rules, so the app never offers a control that the site would refuse.

Edit opens the Post a Job form filled in with the job. It appears only while JobBoardWP allows editing that job:

Job statusEdit appears when
Draft or expiredAlways
Pending reviewPending Job Edits is on
PublishedPublished Job Edits is not “Users cannot edit their published job listings”

With Published Job Edits set to require approval, saving an edit sends the job back to pending review until a moderator approves it again.

Mark filled appears on published jobs only.

Delete asks first. An author’s delete is permanent, exactly as JobBoardWP’s own job dashboard does it. A moderator deleting somebody else’s job moves it to the trash, where it can be restored from wp-admin.

A moderator is anyone with JobBoardWP’s edit_others_jb-jobs capability. On a default site that is administrators.

With Ultimate Member - Real-time Notifications active, the author of a job is notified when it is approved and when it expires. Tapping either notification in the app’s notification list opens this screen for the job.

A push notification is different. Tapping a job approved or job expired push still opens the author’s profile, not the job.

If the job has been deleted since, the notification keeps its original link to the profile rather than opening a screen that cannot load.
