New Topic (bbPress)
The composer. A member picks a forum, writes a title and a first post, and lands on the topic they just made.
Before you start
Section titled “Before you start”| Plugin | bbPress — or BuddyBoss Platform with its Forums component on |
| Endpoint group | bbPress |
| Plan | Every plan |
| Needs | The member’s role must allow posting topics — Participant does, by default |
Settings
Section titled “Settings”| Setting | What it does | Default |
|---|---|---|
| Title, Description | Shown above the form | Empty |
| Restrictions | Which roles see the tab | Everyone |
What members can choose
Section titled “What members can choose”Forum. Only forums that hold topics are offered. bbPress categories hold sub-forums, and a topic posted into one renders nowhere — so they are left out rather than accepted and lost. Closed forums are left out too.
Tags. Offered only when your site has topic tags switched on, and only to roles bbPress lets assign them.
After they post
Section titled “After they post”The form clears every field and opens the topic that was just created, rather than returning to a list to find it.
If something is wrong, the message appears on the field it belongs to — a missing title on the title, a category chosen as the forum on the forum — not as a banner at the top.
Related
Section titled “Related”The topic body suggests members to @mention and #hashtags as the member types. bbPress mentions now show as links to the member. See Mentions and hashtags.
