My Groups
The same as Groups, narrowed to the ones the signed-in member has joined.
Before you start
Section titled “Before you start”| Plugin | Ultimate Member - Groups |
| Endpoint groups | Groups, plus Wall for discussions |
| Plan | Every plan |
Add it to your app
Section titled “Add it to your app”Place it beside Groups and Create Group, usually under a Parent Menu called Groups in the side drawer.
Settings
Section titled “Settings”| Setting | What it does | Default |
|---|---|---|
| Title, Description | Shown at the top | Empty |
| Restrictions | Which roles see the tab | Everyone |
What your members see
Section titled “What your members see”Their groups, with the same avatars, names and member counts as the full list. Opening one goes to the same group screen.
It is empty before sign-in
Section titled “It is empty before sign-in”This is a personal screen. A signed-out visitor belongs to no groups, so the screen is correctly empty.
Restrict the tab to a signed-in role if you would rather it were hidden than empty. See Feature settings.
Whether you need both
Section titled “Whether you need both”In a community where most members belong to a few groups, My Groups is the screen they will use daily and Groups is the one they use once.
In a community where groups are mainly browsed rather than joined, the reverse.
Placing both is fine. Placing only Groups is fine too, since a member’s own groups are reachable from their profile.
When it does not work
Section titled “When it does not work”| Symptom | Cause | Fix |
|---|---|---|
| Empty for a signed-in member | They have joined no groups | Expected |
| Empty for everyone | The Groups group is off | Enable it |
| Empty before sign-in | It is a personal screen | Restrict the tab, or expect it |
| Group discussion is empty | The Wall group is off | Enable it |
| A group is missing | They left it, or it was deleted | Check on your website |
