Membership Levels

Your Paid Memberships Pro levels as a native screen, so members can compare them and join one without leaving the app.

Every Memberside endpoint is off until it is enabled. Placing any Paid Memberships Pro feature switches the Paid Memberships Pro group on for you when your site is connected. If the site was not connected at the time, turn it on yourself under Memberside → REST API — see Enable the endpoints you need.

  1. Drag Membership Levels onto a navigation bar or into the side drawer.
  2. Place My Membership too, so members who join can see what they hold.

The levels themselves, their prices and their order come from Memberships → Settings → Levels on your site. Change them there.

The levels, grouped and ordered as your site’s own Levels page shows them. Each level carries its name, description, price and expiry, worded exactly as Paid Memberships Pro words them on the web. Free and Recurring flags mark the levels they apply to, and the level a member already holds is flagged Your level.

Join on a level opens your site’s Paid Memberships Pro checkout in an in-app browser, already signed in. A member who holds a level sees Change to this level on the others instead.

Levels closed to new sign-ups are not listed. A member who already holds one still sees it on My Membership.

Membership levels, and joining one

Payment happens on your Paid Memberships Pro checkout page, through the gateway you already use. Memberside never handles card details, and discount codes are entered there as they are on the web.

When the checkout closes, the app reads the member’s levels and roles again. A screen restricted to a membership level, or to a role the level gives, opens straight away once they hold it — no signing out and in. On plugin 2.72.0 or later this works even when your default profile form is limited to certain roles.

A membership is digital content, and Apple and Google both require digital content used inside an app to be sold through their own billing. So this screen follows the choice under Global settings → Store, the same one the shop follows — see Selling digital products in your app.

Store settingWhat members see
Hide them in the app (default)The levels with no prices and no Join
Show them, without a price or a way to buyThe levels with no prices and no Join
Sell them through the App Store and Google PlayThe same as above. Paid Memberships Pro levels are not sold through the stores yet
Sell them anywayPrices and Join

When the app withholds Join, members see Memberships cannot be purchased in this app. They can still join on your website and sign in to the app with what they bought there.
